Féile Síle na Gig

I organised this day-long event with archaeologist Eve Campbell, musician Dido Rogerson and filmmaker Treasa O’Brien. Held in the XPO in Co Clare on Síle’s Day, 18th March 2018, it was an interdisciplinary exploration of Síle na Gig.

As part of the event, I collaborated with artist Siobhán Clancy to create participatory game ‘The Hunt of the Iníon Baoith’ where participants were asked to search for signs of Síle in the landscape.

Other sessions included:

  • Guided tour of Killinaboy Church and its Síle na Gig statue led by archaeologist Eve Campbell

  • Film installation: Sheela-na-Gig 3D Project by Digital Heritage Age

  • Make your own Síle na Gig workshop facilitated by the Fanny Factory

  • Sing Síle na Gig's song: A sacred ritual facilitated by Orla Quinn, Avia Gurman and Aine Brosnan

  • Síle na Gig variety show
